Carrera Marble is a 100% natural stone product imported from Italy. As such, variance from piece to piece is to be expected. By ordering products from this collection, you accept the natural characteristics unique to each item and agree that no claims will be approved regarding these natural variations. Special care should be taken to protect the marble’s finish.
Clean the surface after use with a clean cloth or paper towel with a marble cleaner. Only use specifically designed cleaners for marble as common household cleaners have harsh acids or alkalis that could etch or dull the marble surface. Scratch Removal If slight scratches appear in frequently used areas, use a natural white wax before polishing with a small hand/floor polisher. The scratches will be softened and become part of the patina. Stain Treatment Use several drops of linseed oil on a cloth to coat the surface of the marble. It is important to do this as soon as possible. Oil and water repelling products can also be used.
Each marble slab has a surface that features variation in color, veining, texture and density. The existence of minor visible natural cracks in the surface of the marble should be expected. These visual characteristics add to the natural beauty of the material, unique to each piece. The surface of the marble is delicate and is subject to marks if aggressive acids (like vinegar, red wine, lemon, etc.) are spilled and left without immediate cleanup. To protect the marble from acid abrasion and grease stains, apply a marble sealer. It is strongly recommended to use a placemat or coaster on the stone surface to protect it from heat over 140º F to avoid burn marks.
